I think this book was okay but the way it ended wasn`t very good.I think that Eric Walters should have wrote a bit into the protest.I still think it could have ended better. Marcel
ReplyDeleteFor me i loved the book.It had funny parts and i never thought that the ending would be anything like that but i think that the ending could be a bit longer.Other then the ending everything was great. Eric.P
ReplyDeleteHello students,
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you’re participating in the Silver Birch program. I LOVE the Silver Birch. I’ve won it three times but even when I lose it I still love the idea because every year, every book that you vote for is ‘THE BEST’ book because you voted for it. Keep reading, and as always, the best book will win!
Eric Walters
i'm only quarter in to the book but i think it is really good.the writing is and the story is excellent and funny. For example when Ian sat behind Julia because she was very mad and scared that she would hit him. I have heard that the ending was bad but I can't wait to read it so I can see for myself!xavier#@!$$$#@!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the begining of Branded, but I think that the ending seemed a bit rushed almost like the author ran out of pages:(.It's really too bad that the ending had to be like that because it ruined the whole rest of the story, add an extra hundred pages and it would have been great.Over all I found Branded somewhat disapointing.-SARAH
ReplyDeleteI really liked this book! I honestly never thought it would be this good but it was! I liked how the story actually came out to be very powerful. I hope everyone gets the chance to read this book, since it has a very good message. I hope Eric Walters keeps on writing books!
ReplyDeleteKatie :o)
I loved this book soooo much!..
ReplyDeleteI really understand the powerful thoughts that was put into this book.I can really relate to this because I am in a club called "ME TO WE"be the change leader ship group and I learn a lot of
situations that are just the same that you have mention in your book, but it is very interesting that you made a book about heavy duty stuff.Well it's a awesome book.CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR YOU BACK!..Aretha
I LOVE THE BOOK SOO MUCH...!

THOSE WERE MY THREE "I" 's
ReplyDeleteTHAT I LISTED!..Aretha
Wow this book has such a powerful message. At first I never thought that it was this good. I was so into this book that I just couldn't put it down. But I agree with Sarah the end felt like Eric Walters was running out of pages. Overall this book was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAnthony.G
i liked the book branded because it said a lot about social justice and fighting for what you believe in.my favourite character was julia because she was very determined about what she thought was right even if she didn't have a good reason.-KYANA:P
ReplyDeleteYour very right kyana.
ReplyDeleteThis book is talking a lot about social justice, reconizing we could be doing the wrong things in life...,and fighting for our rights and what we believe in.I really, really, really, really love this book sooo much.I know I have mentioned this in my other comment, but it was very powerful and interesting at times.I HOPE THIS BOOK WINS!..Aretha
I just started the book.I pridict that it will be about a kid who's school has uniforms and he does not like uniforms. So the next school day he will not wear his uniform he will wear different cloth's.To try and stick up for what he wants changed.
ReplyDeleteI think this will happen because the front has a picture of white shirts and one RED shirt.
ReplyDeleteI just read page two and it said. "julia called the new principal Mr.Roberts a stupid, mouth- breathing chest-themping ape" on facebook and he suspended her for only FIVE days. If you did how long would your princapl suspend you? Do you think it is fair?
ReplyDeleteI am almost done this book and I love it. I agree with you Aretha. This book talks about so many things like fighting for what we believe in and it is just so great!! :D CLARA
ReplyDeleteI liked this book because it talked about child labour and stuff like that. And, this is what we are learning about in BTC and in our class.
ReplyDeleteJacob
I love this book!! I couldn't put it down!! It really related to me because as Jacob said, it talked about child labour and how it isn't good for the earth. As well, it talked about social justice which means fairness and how there should be it in the world. This book incorprated this while having a great plot where you can't even put the book down. CLARA :D
ReplyDeleteI loved the book Branded! I loved it because it was realy incheresting and how they princaple got ian to read about child labor, and they got there uniforms and the child labor logo was on the uniform then they deside to protest that its not right to wear the uniforms so they protest about it.
ReplyDeleteI liked the book "Branded". It was short, but it had a powerfull message. Child labour is one of the biggest problems in the world. I dont agree with uniforms eighter, but when they are made with child labour, it is really bad. This reminds me of when I found out from an older student that abercrombie (my favorette brand) was made by child labour (I guess that explains how soft it is). I didn't stop wearing it or take my clothes off before school (like in the book) but I did write a letter of protest. Now it doesn't use it (much)
ReplyDeleteI agree with because the book was really powerful about how child lobour is one of the problems in the worked
ReplyDeleteI really liked this book but I think that Eric Walters should have put more into the protest because it leaves you hanging too much and there is no sequel to this book so yeah. It still was very interesting and would be a good thing for everyone to read because it explains and addresses the issue of CHILD LABOUR very openly but in a fiction book. I think that he's an okay writer because I've read most of his books and most of those leave you hanging by too much.
ReplyDeleteClara I was wondering,Why do you like the book because I really, really love this book soooooo much. This book reminds me in BTC when we learn all the children who are in developing countries who are forced into child labour and that really reminds me what we are learning about today!..
