I really didn't like this book because it would just say things only people who loved figure skating would understand what it's saying. The only part I liked was when it would talk about stars of figure skating. Another thing I liked was the time lines. As a result when I didn't like it, I couldn't focus
ReplyDeleteI really loved the book how figure skating works because, as anonymous says it is really for people how love figure skating and i am one of those people, but at the begining of the book it talks about the ice and that mostly has to do with science (friction.) You should understand that.
ReplyDeleteI loved the book because i could relate to the figure skating they do like the jumps and spins.

The book How Figure Skating Works, was a really good book. But it wasn't the right book for me. The reason that it wasn't the right book for me was because, I don't really like figure skating. The book had some really cool facts about figure skating. I also really liked the fact that the they included some names of figure skaters, from the past. I think that it would be a good book for people who like figure skating.

I really hope this book will get quite interesting because right now it is really boring, I am not sure if reading books about Figure skating is really my thing but I will just read it anyway because Mrs.T told me to and I also have to do it for silver birch

Hello Solah, I know you enjoy reading non-fiction books and recommended that you read this one about figure skating so that your reading repertoire can grow. I appreciate that although the book is not something you would typically pick to read on your own, you are giving it a chance. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the book once you are done :o)
ReplyDeleteI liked this book because before I read it I didn't know alot about figure skating but now that I'm finished it i know alot more. I also liked this because last year I read Inside Hockey and it was by the same author as How Figure Skating Works. His name is Keltie Thomas. Eric 5
ReplyDeleteOkay. I am now on chapter 5 of the this book so I have 3 more to go. This book doesn't seem to be getting any interesting but I will give it a chance, after all it is always good to try somthing new

I am on chapter 8 now I can't belive I am halfway through the book, it is finally starting to get interesting, the only problem was that it was boring because there was to much talk talk about the 1960s, 70s 80s and 90s

I finally finnished reading this book, I did not no I was going to finnish it in three days I must be a fast reader. The book how figure skating works was mostly boring because it didn't say anything about the 2O10 Olimpics last year, they did not even tell us about are famous figure skaters that competed last year. The only to chapters that were interesting was chapter 7 & 8 because it explains more about competion and judgement, personally figure skating is not my kind of thing. Besides I agree with nina, this book would suit a figure skating lover

ReplyDeleteI finished reading this book a couple of days ago and I thought it was really good book but not for me. I don't think I will pick this book up on a regular day because I don't really like figure skating and this book talked a lot about how to do jumps and things like that. On the other hand, I really liked how the book was formated and the text adn how it was understandble and not to hard. CLARA :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first comment. I liked reading about the different figure skating stars and the timelines. I also liked some of the facts because they were interesting and they surprised me. But it wasn't really the book for me, as I'm not into figure skating as much as maybe the next person would be.
ReplyDeleteI thought that How Figure skating works was very intresting the reason I thought that it was intresting because of the forms of the skaters and what figure skates previously looked like for example: did you know that in the seventeen hundreds the skatses blades were at the tip of your toe. Another interesting fact that I found facinating was that a figure skater skated for four hours a day and went to school at seven oclock and she had this routine since she was fourteen. jr Gr6
