How we, and all living things came to be!
Evolution has shaped every facet of the living world, from the petals on the rose to the lungs of a whale to the scales of a long-extinct dinosaur. It has even helped shaped a brain like yours, clever enough to understand the working of nature. Can something as a complex and wondrous as the natural world be explained by simple theory.
eally liked the book EVOLUTION because it really makes you think about the animals and plants living around us in a whole new way.For example, how the book talked about whales before they evolved as being land creatures!I also liked how the author explained about the fact we are all mutants.-SARAH:)
ReplyDeleteThe book Evoloution was really interesting because it tells you what we used to look like although some photos of what we used to look like kind of creeped me out.

So far I find the book interesting but I personally don't believe in evolution so I would rate it a 5.

I just finished the book and I think it is really interesting but as I sayd i dont believe in evolution so I kinda think that the beliefs are wierd.
ReplyDeleteHi, guys! I'm glad you're enjoying the book! Julia, you might be interested to know that I made the pictures of our ancient relative "Lucy" using a model I sculpted and painted by hand. (You can check out a photo of the unfinished model here.) I added hair one strand at a time, using hair from the head of my wife Cheryl — who, incidentally, is also the model on page 37. She was a very good sport about all that!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to stop in again in a few days. Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Daniel
Even though I have only read 18 padges of this book I could tell based on what I've read this book is very intressting its interestig. It is intresting because of the facts like the about the pidgons on wild pidgons on when they breed on how many feathers on their feet. jr grade six
ReplyDeleteThis book was an interesting book based on what I've read it is interesting like my favourite part was when you explained on the second last page on gliding animals. The flying squirle (sugar glider) that really gliding is really someone or something just falling really slowly that is extending the distance. jr grade six
ReplyDeleteI really thought this book was very informative, because it told you all about evolution, and gives you a pretty good idea. I liked the page that explains about the trees because it's cool to think that even something that we use to fuel a fire or to sit on has its very own evolutionary chain. The taller the tree, the better its chances, the better the chances, the more likely it is the tree will spread its genes. And so all the trees start to grow tall, and they have to keep growing to compete with taller trees that are stealing the sunlight. So we are left with some very tall trees. I also really like the part on the evolution of the whale, because I always thought the whale was always an underwater animal, but it really explains why they have air lungs, but live under water, and that is because they began as hoofed land predators. Aurora
ReplyDeleteI really like thos book because it tell how most things came to be like how we are prime apes and how we discovered evolution I thought that it is ment for more patient people becuase it tells you all these facts about humans animal even dead speices. Riley
ReplyDeleteI liked this book because it tells how evolution took place and how sea animals were once land animals and so on. I realy thought that it was cool how modern day whales evolved from land mamals. COOL! Marcel
ReplyDeleteI thought this book was okay. I thought it was really cool because it talked about what things look before and how they look after and it had pictures to give more understanding like how sea animals were once animals. I didn't like this book though because I don't really like reading about topics like these. Clara
